At times an unsung hero, Pepe the King Prawn deserves his moment in the sun. And this is it. We haven’t felt this strongly pro-crustacean since we met Sebastian. Pepe is sassy, fun-loving, and takes no nonsense from anyone. (Do not call him a shrimp.) Below, we’ve laid out all of the reasons why Pepe is indeed the king.
He Live Tweeted The Bachelor
We stumbled upon Pepe’s official Twitter handle, and, as you can see, he watched every episode of last season and had plenty to say about it.
He Rocks a Gold Chain
And we don’t even hate it.
He Played Toto in “The Muppets Wizard of Oz”
This is probably the first time a king prawn has appeared on film in a role originated by a dog. Game changer.
He Wrote a Book
All you have to do is look at the picture of Pepe, and his reflection, in the ripples of a placid lake, to know that this book is the best ever to be put on paper.
He’s a Great Dancer
It can’t be easy lifting Miss Piggy in long dance numbers. We don’t mean any offence, this is a serious logistical concern.
He Let Go of Inhibitions for the Sake of the Role
He was incredibly brave to take on the challenging role of Toto.
He Once Posed for this Sketch
We think it really captures his essence.
He Has Four Arms
If we had four arms, we would be able to write two articles at once. Whoa.
He Once Said This:
“Kermit the Frog is honest, loyal, generous, and very talented. How the heck did he ever make it in show business, okay?”
We’ll leave you with that. Tell us what you love about Pepe in the comments.
