Life Lessons From The Jungle Book

There’s no doubt about it, The Jungle Book is one of those stories that is just simply timeless. It has everything you could possibly want: lovable characters, singable songs, and a dancing primate. But who knew that a bunch of jungle animals and a man-cub named Mowgli would teach us so many life lessons? Not us. But lessons we did learn. Ones like these:

Remember the Bare Necessities

This jungle harmony is nugget after nugget of great life wisdom. Appreciate the world around you, even things as small as the bees who are buzzing in the trees to make some honey just for you. And we’ll tell you something (else) true: the bare necessities of life will come to you.

Dance Like Nobody’s Watching

This tip works metaphorically when you need to let your personality shine through. But it also works literally. Sometimes you just need to stop what you’re doing and dance around (coconut and other accessories optional).

Always Look Someone In The Eye

In real life, it’s an immense sign of respect. In The Jungle Book, it’s also necessary for hypnosis by snake.

Don’t Get Down on Yourself

No matter what life throws your way, remember that’s what your friends are for. Chin up, Mowgli.

Laugh Often

A good old guffaw can change your whole mood. It’s just plain good for your soul.

Be Careful Who You Trust

And by this we mean never trust a snake who’s trying to hypnotize you.

You Can Count on Your Friends

Friends help you navigate life (read: the jungle). They teach you things, like how it’s bad to try pick a prickly pear with a paw and how when you pick a pear you should try to use the claw.

What’s Right Isn’t Always What’s Easy

Man’s best friend has to know when to let the man go. Commencing cry sequence in 3, 2, 1….

And one final special lesson courtesy of Mowgli:

Don’t Use Your Head To Open a Coconut

It hurts more than you can bear. #Trust

You can learn these lessons over and over again with The Jungle Book Diamond Edition, now available on Blu-ray Combo and Digital HD. Which lesson did you learn?
