Which Witch is Which?

Halloween right around the corner and we’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time talking about witches. They’re master potion mixers, they tend to cackle, and no one looks better in black. But, with all these splendidly spooky sisters around, it can be hard to distinguish which witch is which. Hence the following slightly sassy and entirely helpful set of references featuring some of our most favorite members of the Disney coven:

The One Who’s After a Dime
DuckTales Magica De Spell
Better watch your back, Scrooge.

The One Whose Evilness is Matched Only By Her Makeup Skills
Bette Midler as Winifred Sanderson
Seriously. Those lips. So red. So… strangely accented.

The Disguised One
Evil Queen as a witch
We’re not buying that old lady act anymore, Evil Queen. We’re onto your games!

The Master Transformer
Mad Madam Mim from Sword in the Stone
She may fool some, but we know she’s just a witch in purple and pink clothing. And sometimes she’s a dragon.

The Wicked One(s)
Evanora and Theodora from Oz: The Great and Powerful
Look at those dagger eyes. *shudder*

The One Who Rides a Vacuum
Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson
She’s also the one who can smell children. But the vacuum thing is hard to forget.

The Master of the Potion Hologram
Witch from Brave
Color us impressed.

The Lesser-Known Gem
Witch Hazel from Trick or Treat
This one goes out to anyone who loves the cartoon Trick or Treat as much as we do. We love you, Huey, Dewey, and Louie!

The One Who Was Once Named Splendora
Agatha Cromwell in Halloweentown
We get that you wanted to blend in, but we miss your old name, Aggie.

The One Who Twirls a Lot
Sarah Sanderson climbs a fence
Also the one who climbs fences, eats bugs, and lures children with the sound of her voice.

The One Who Knows Best
Mother Gothel knows best
Despite the fact that the source of her power is hidden in her fake daughter’s hair. Weird.

And… The Good One
Glinda from Oz the Great and Powerful
Note to selves: not all witches are bad.
