What’s He Talking Abu’t?

Monkey see, monkey do… not speak so much in Aladdin. But despite his lack of sentence structure, syntax, and general knowledge of words, Abu actually has a lot to say via some over-the-top body language. (He must have learned from Ursula.) Here is a collection of Abu’s wildest expressions and our pseudo-attempt at translating what we imagine his monkey speak really means. Bananas, right? But we thought we’d give it a shot.

Aladdin_Abu1
Nailed it!

Aladdin_Abu2
Om nom nom nom.

Aladdin_Abu3

Aladdin_Abu4
Don’t mess with the skilled samurai simian.

Aladdin_Abu11

Aladdin_Abu13

Aladdin_Abu14
What year is this grape juice from?

Aladdin_Abu17

Aladdin_Abu16
It’s cold out here for a chimp!

See how much you can say without saying anything at all? And not to worry, if you don’t speak monkey like we (tried to) do… there’s one expression that has a universal meaning:

Aladdin_Monkey Spitting
