We’ve all been there. You’re curled up on the couch, casually watching a Disney movie, and BAM—the delicious movie food takes your hunger level from zero to emergency. Here are are five of the biggest (and tastiest-looking) offenders.
Pizza – The Goofy Movie
This scene has all the makings of a thing that’s great: road trip, best pals, waterbed (throwback alert), and pizza. Each time we watch this movie (which may be more often than we’re willing to admit publicly), the pizza makes our mouths water. It’s ooey, gooey, cheesy, and epic. We should all probably make a pizza pie right now. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that we catch it when we try the “spin it on your finger to look cool” trick.
Beignets – The Princess and the Frog
Tiana’s mama always said, the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Being that Tiana is such a whiz in the kitchen, she’s already got a handle on how to make these—as Charlotte so astutely puts them—“Man-catchin’ beignets”. Every time we see them, we want to drop what we’re doing and dig in. We don’t care that we’re at work and our outfits might look a little less profesh after they’ve been dusted with powdered sugary goodness.
Pies – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
(Read this to the tune of “I’m Wishing”)
We’ve been wishing
(We’ve been wishing)
For a free afternoon
To make these
(To make these)
Okay, song over. But for real, does this scene not make you all want to be eating a fruit pie pretty much immediately? If it doesn’t, your willpower impresses us. If it does, welcome to the club.
Chocolate Cake – Lilo & Stitch
The chocolate cake (you know, the one that will cure Stitch’s troubles) looks incredibly delicious… until Stitch mama-birds it back onto Lilo’s plate. Make your own triple chocolate cake here, and consume it right away to protect it from aliens.
Spaghetti and Meatballs – Lady & The Tramp
We all know this scene. We’ve watched and wished that Tony’s Restaurant was our local hangout because it’s magical and wonderful and has a chef that plays an instrument. In lieu of actually being able to visit this most romantic of spots, we can always make ourselves (and our signifs) some spaghetti and meatballs to be eaten under the stars.
Happy cooking, Disney fans.
