We just got back from our Disney magical vacation where we celebrated our daughter’s 13th birthday and I have to share a wonderful act of kindness by Disney cast members. On August 9, 2013, we celebrated our daughter’s birthday at the Magic Kingdom. Our first stop was at guest services to pick up a birthday button for Jessica. A very nice cast member wished her a happy birthday and wrote her name on the the button using a Sharpie. Throughout the day Jessica got warm birthday wishes from cast members and some guests too. Unfortunately the hot and humid Florida weather was causing her name on the button to melt away. Birthday wishes of “Happy Birthday Jessica” at the beginning of the day were becoming “Happy Birthday Jess, Tes, and finally T.”
Needless to say, Jessica was disappointed. She and her older sister decided to go into Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe and ask if they had a Sharpie so she could write her name in again. One cast member said she was on break but would be glad to help, while another took the girls around the store and brought them in front of a magical Christmas tree. The cast member asked each girl to make a wish and magically, the tree sparkled! In a few minutes the other cast member brought back the button. It was now embossed with gold stars and splashes of blue. Jessica’s name was now embossed in three tones of blue, highlighted, and outlined to make it look 3D! The script she used was princess-like. These cast members went well above and beyond what was expected or ever requested. Thank you so very much for making Jessica’s day even more special!
