The best moment, other than when my girls walked into Walt Disney World the first time and saw all of that magic, was when we all met Mary Poppins for the first time. One of my favorite movies growing up was “Mary Poppins” and I passed my love for that movie onto my two girls. I’m always telling them that I am, like Mary Poppins, “practically perfect in every way.”
On one trip we were walking past Dumbo and just coming around Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel, when who should be standing there but Ms. Poppins! My girls, who were 16 and 8 at the time, went to have me take their picture with her. Everyone was all smiles until my little one said, “Mary Poppins, my dad is practically perfect in every way too!” Well, the look I got from Ms. Poppins was to die for. I wanted to go hide under the carousel as she said, “Oh, he is, is he?” with an intimidating glare. I thought quick and replied, “Not as perfect as you, Mary Poppins!”, which got me the sweetest smile and some bashfulness from her.
