My husband, Herb, and I visited Disney World every year starting in 1973, when we were in our early twenties. The time there always brought us joy. This time-honored tradition continued until he died in 2011 at age 62.
I know that that last sentence is not the way your usual fan stories go, but for us those were magical times and memories I will never forget. We went other places on vacation during those same years but we both agreed that Disney made us feel vibrant and youthful, and it really did renew our love for each other.
I went to Disney last year and I am going again this December. It has changed for me since I now go with my friends or relatives, but I cherish the magical moments that my husband and I spent. I know he would want me to make the most of my remaining years and still enjoy the magic of the “world.” Thank you, Disney, for the memories and for each new memory yet to come.
