Congrats to Disney’s Annie Awards Winners

The 41st Annual Annie Awards show was held this past weekend, and Disney left the ceremony with a number of statues in tow.

Among the winners were Frozen, which won Best Animated Feature, Outstanding Achievement, Directing in an Animated Feature Production for Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production for Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, and Christophe Beck, and Outstanding Achievement, Production Design in an Animated Feature Production for Michael Giaimo, Lisa Keene, David Womersley. Josh Gad also took home a win for Outstanding Achievement, Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production.

Get a Horse!, which has been screening in theatres before Frozen, also won its category, Best Animated Short Subject.

 

Pixar film, Mike Wazowski and Sulley in Monsters University

Pixar’s most recent theatrical release, Monsters University, saw Dean Kelly recognized for Outstanding Achievement, Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Production, and Greg Snyder, Gregory Amundson, and Steve Bloom awarded trophies for Outstanding Achievement, Editorial in an Animated Feature Production.

 

Mickey Mouse Walt Disney

Disney’s television animation efforts were also recognized for their work. Sofia the First won Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production For Preschool Children, while the new Mickey Mouse cartoons brought awards to Paul Rudish for Outstanding Achievement, Character Design in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production, Christopher Willis for Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production, and Illya Owens for Outstanding Achievement, Editorial in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production.

And finally, the team behind Pixar Animation Studios’ Toy Story OF TERROR! short picked up a trio of awards.
Angus MacLane won for Outstanding Achievement, Directing in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production, Kureha Yokoo for Outstanding Achievement, Character Animation in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production, and Daniel Chong took home the Annie for Outstanding Achievement, Storyboarding in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production.
