With the Fourth of July just around the corner, we’ve got bright lights on the mind–and for good reason! This year, Disneyland and Walt Disney World have some truly incredible fireworks shows planned to celebrate Independence Day at the Parks. However, we’re thinking of another kind of light show that happens much closer to ground level. Of course we mean the Main Street Electrical Parade! Decked out with over a half a million lights, it’s one of the flashiest nighttime shows you can catch at a Disney Park, and it ends with a patriotic tribute of red, white, and blue.
On the Fourth, the Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World will feature the Main Street Electrical Parade in a special midnight appearance that will surely fit in nicely with the rest of their holiday fare, including their fireworks spectacular, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.”
This classic Disney Parks show has been around since 1972 and is an unforgettable sight for anyone who has the pleasure of seeing it roll by. We’ve collected some videos of it in action, but can’t say strongly enough: you need to see it in person.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Disneyland proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. The Main Street Electrical Parade!”
