Ariel, Nemo, Dory, Lightning McQueen, Simba, and… synchronized swimmers. One of these things may sound like it doesn’t belong, but Disney’s Art of Animation Resort recently played host to a whole new group of characters. The Aqualillies, a synchronized swimming troop, paid a visit to the largest pool on Walt Disney World property and brought their routines into the water.
Disney Insider was on location at the Big Blue Pool during the early hours of the morning shoot.
It took two full days, a crew of over 20 production specialists, 18 swimmers, three unique cameras, two choreographers, and one giant underwater “aqua crane” to bring this pool party to life. Take a look at the final video:
