“Wings of Life” Arrives for Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! This year, why not celebrate with a look at the creatures that make our fruits and flowers possible? Disneynature “Wings of Life” introduces audiences to the pollinators – the butterflies, bees, bats, and hummingbirds that make our planet bloom. Available now on Disney Blu-ray and DVD, “Wings of Life” was filmed in more than a dozen locations around the world. The film uses state-of-the-art technology, including time-lapse, high-speed, and night photography, to capture the beautiful and elusive creatures. Follow the monarch butterfly migration across North America from Canada to Mexico; meet the bats that pollinate beautiful night-blooming cacti; and go deep into the rainforests of South America to discover jewel-like hummingbirds. Want to know more? D23 had a video chat with director Louie Schwartzberg, featuring some stunning footage from the movie.

So check out the film, plant some milkweed (monarch butterflies adore it!) or hang a bat-house in your yard, and take a moment to think about the wings that keep our world beautiful.
