“Oz: The Great and Powerful” is on its way (catch it in theaters March 8!). To hold us over until then we’ve got some cool making-of pix to look at, because Disney’s “Oz” crew kindly opened the sets to media when the movie was in progress. Look closely for set design and costume details, plus some hints as to how they make all that movie magic.
James Franco looked very sharp in his Oz wardrobe!
This scene looked very magical, even with all the camera crew in the background. The image showcases some of the incredible detail that went into Mila’s costume, too.
See that enormous blue screen in the background? Very handy for shooting elements that will be added into a scene separately, removing harnesses from flying characters, and so forth. Wouldn’t it be great to get a better look at those storyboards? You’ll just have to be patient and see them brought to life on the big screen.
