We’ve been in an introspective place lately, being that 2014 is firmly underway. As such, we spent a little time thinking about some of our favorites amongst the many many incredible Disney history moments that have led to where we are today. Enjoy:
The Walt Disney Company First Exists (October 16, 1923)
The company recently celebrated its 90th anniversary.
The Disneys move to their new studio at 2719 Hyperion (January, 1926)
The name of the company is changed from “The Disney Brothers Studio” to “Walt Disney Studios”.
Steamboat Willie Premieres (November 18, 1928)
Disney releases its first full color cartoon, Flowers and Trees (July 30, 1932)
The film marks another first for Disney: it wins an Academy Award.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Premieres in Theaters (December 22,1937)
She really was the fairest of them all.
Disney releases its first completely live-action film, Treasure Island (July 19, 1950)
To this day, pirates remain one of the most popular subjects for Disney live-action films.
The Mickey Mouse Club First Airs on Television (October 3, 1955)
